I was fortunate to be able to take a year off from my career in my 20’s to chase my long-distance running dreams to train for the Olympic Trials in the marathon in 2012. I was more than a few spots away from an Olympic berth, but it was an amazing experience that taught me a lot about hard work, discipline and putting yourself out there.
