Individual impact investor/foundation leader
Umsizi Fund
After chapters of education, management consulting, parenting and non-profit leadership, I now dedicate myself to using my social and financial capital to creating a more just and sustainable world. And, I find great joy in nature. With a particular emphasis on inclusive economic opportunities, I invest with a racial justice lens into small business growth and diverse founders and fund managers. I am excited about shared ownership models/cooperatives and participatory governance. As a lifelong learner, I learn from others by convening and connecting innovators: – African education to employment ecosystems – asset owners working to improve life on our planet (including an IfB pilot chapter)
Apis & Heritage Capital Partners: An innovative model to buy profitable businesses with large POC workforces from founders/owners who want to retire. They convert them into (ESOP) employee stock option programs. The employees then participate in governance and accrue higher wages and retirement savings.
