Summer 2023 Deep Dive Line-Up
Invest for Better’s Deep Dives are 3-month “elective” courses that complement our signature 6-month Core Curriculum on values-aligned investing. Like our 6-month Circles, these 3-month experiences will provide curated learning materials and engage women in conversations with other women in small groups that meet every month. They are designed to take participants deeper into topics of interest—and provide the knowledge and confidence to take action.
Our three Deep Dive Courses for the June 2023 session include:
Back to the Basics: Financial Planning – This course is intended for women who want to go back to the basics and establish a strong financial foundation on which to build their values-aligned investing. By the end of the course, you will have determined your cashflow and built your budget, figured out your future retirement nest egg, and established the savings and investment targets you need to meet your financial goals. Led by course creators Eileen Freiburger, CFP® and Teresa Mitchell, CFP®, Back to the Basics will be offered the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:00 pm PT / 8:00 pm ET starting June 28th. Other dates are July 26th and August 23rd.
How Angel Investing Works – In this course, you will learn the terminology and investment approaches used by angel investors and venture capitalists, become familiar with the different ways you can get involved in this asset class, and walk away knowing whether this investment approach is right for you. The course will be led by Susi Burke, an experienced angel and philanthropist. The course will be offered the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET starting June 13th. Other dates are July 11th and August 8th.
Investing for a Sustainable Environment – Many of us are unaware of the wide array of investment opportunities available to support alternative energy, clean our waterways, or shift to more responsible approaches to production and consumption. This course provides a wider lens to view environmental investing and shows you how your assets can be used to mitigate climate change and protect the environment. It will be led by Julie Pulda and Sheila Lawrence and will be offered June 15th, July 27th, and August 31st at 3 pm PT / 6 pm ET.
All of these courses have been very popular in the past and are sure to be once again. We look forward to having you join us in one of them.
