Sheila C. Lawrence, Partner & Senior Client Advisor, Ballentine Partners
Sheila is a Partner and Senior Client Advisor at the firm. A significant portion of Sheila’s practice involves estate planning, wealth transfer and investment management with a particular focus on philanthropy, impact investing, financial education and coaching for the rising generation. Sheila is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Sheila earned a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, concentrating on international business and international trade policy. Sheila graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.A. in Economics. Sheila is particularly passionate about environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture and serves on the board of Lexington Community Farm Coalition.
Julie Pulda, Impact Investment Manager, Ballentine Partners
Julie Pulda, CFA is an Impact Investment Manager at Ballentine Partners, where she has an instrumental role in identifying impact opportunities by conducting market research and providing recommendations to the investment team. Julie received her Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of International Affairs at Tufts University. While there, she interned for Trillium Asset Management. Her master’s thesis, “The Case for SDG Investing: A Portfolio Building Exercise” focused on integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into financial strategies. Julie finds great joy in helping families align their social values with impact-focused investment opportunities.

OUR SUMMER 2023 DEEP DIVE COURSES:
Invest for Better will be offering four Deep Dive courses for our Summer Session. They include our ‘Back to the Basics: Financial Planning’, ‘How Angel Investing Works’, ‘Finding a Values-Aligned Financial Advisor’, and ‘Investing for a Sustainable Environment’. The courses will run between June and August 2023. Our Deep Dives are intended to move participants from knowledge to action. Created in partnership with values-aligned financial advisors and other experts, Deep Dives include self-study, monthly group meetings, and shared experiences.
