The US faces formidable challenges: wealth inequality, still-deferred racial equity, the availability of quality jobs, and climate change. A growing group of investors, nonprofits, and philanthropists have come to believe that operating through traditional ownership structures may perpetuate those inequities, and that rethinking ownership and governance can address them.
